In my Japanese class, a while ago, I came across this sentence:
"ところによってはにわか雨でしょう。"
As I understand that translates to "In some places there will be showers". I understand the rest of the sentence (ところ is "place", にわか雨 is "showers", and I understand the particles and でしょう) but I just don't quite understand how "によって" works.
Could anyone explain with a few examples?|||it's like 'depending on', 'based on', or 'according to'.
